ARGENTINE/KC SAFETY SITE TEAM MEETING -
APRIL 11, 2006

Open Issues - # 301 - Locomotive cab radios, no external speakers, harm-
ful to hearing.  DQ 34 Project - 781 flagged to be repaired, 737 completed
      and 44 yet to complete.
                          # 1877 - Initiate lightning policy for TYE at Argentine Yard.  Is
      at Division SACP.
                          # 2018 - Ron Westberg - Marceline Sub. Dispatcher walking on
crews when switching and taking Form A's and B's.  BLET Safety Coordinator
John Krueger of the Kansas Division and I visited with the DSF Tower about
the issue.  They can tell some of the radio traffic from the AVTEC Screen,
but not all.  Response from Communication Supervisor Brian Erickson was
that a locomotive radio puts out 50 watts, where a pak-set only puts out 2
watts of power.  Key to the issue is making sure the dispatchers are on the
right base-station radio, in order to hear us on the road before they talk.  I am
trying to contact Corridor Supt. Mike Sickler to confirm this.
#2022 - Kevin Maloney - Trees obstruct view of signals, west-
bound at C.P. 5.5.  Response - Foliage off of trees until spring, will view then
with Asst. Supt. Bill Stuhldreher.  Container Business will share one-half of
      the cost to remove.
                          # 2094 - Requested Rules Examiners versus CBT Training.
Issue raised to Senior BNSF Leadership at Safety Summit Meeting.  Re-
sponse - Committed to CBT through 2006, but Dave Dealy committed to a
24/7 Rules Hotline by Easter 2006.  It is not established yet, but a pilot pro-
gram is underway on the Gulf Division.
                          # 2156 - Pigeon problem at Argentine Yard Tall Tower - Shen-
dell Co. brought in and is going to trap pigeons, cannot shoot them due to
city ordinances.  Still feeding them grain salted with drug to make them
sick, pigeons are leaving the Tall Tower area.
                          # 2335 - Signal Awareness Forms going to Murray Yard are
      incomplete.  R.F.E. Traff working on.
                          # 2349 - 4000 Yard full of holes with the installation of shove
lights.  The Signal Dept. is addressing.
                          # 2350 - When the Steel Plant lead is full, we have to set-out
bad orders in the old 3000 Yard.  Lighting is not adequate.  Response - The
South end of that yard is to be re-configured, the lighting will be addressed
      at that time.

New Issues - 1.  12th Street lights at night, Westbound, interfere with the
signals on Mains 1 and 2.
                          2.  Cleveland Avenue, Eastbound signals, all Mains are block-
      ed by the I - 70 bridge.
                          3.  Independence Avenue, Eastbound signals, Mains 2 and 3
      are blocked by a building.

Misc. Information - 1.  When setting out bad orders in the Steel Plant Lead,
if your head-end is East of 12th Street, there is a gate at M.P. 3, that you
can get in.  Or, East of there at C.P. 2.7, there is a gate you can get
through as well.  Keys needed are either the 105 or the old brass key.

      CHICAGO DIVISION ( FORMERLY SACP ) MEETING - APRIL 20, 2006.

Because I am the Co-Chairman of the Ft. Madison Safety Site Team, I
get invited to this meeting once a quarter.  All Co-Chairman, Safety Assist-
ants and Safety Reps. had to give a report from their respective Safety
Teams.  I gave a report on the Ft. Madison Safety Site Team.  I also gave a
Powerpoint Presentation, that the committee developed on the Sibley Coal
Plant, just guidelines.  This will eventually be distributed to our fellow em-
ployees in the form of an Industry Playbook.

Two of my issues that are over 90 days old were discussed by the
Chicago Division Committee.  # 1328 - Sibley Bridge walkways and
guardrails.  Will be done after the Memorial Weekend Project.  #1374 - The
signal blocked at M.P. 386.3, by grain spouts and signal apparatus.  The
hardware is here, but waiting on manpower and track windows.  There were
five other issues discussed from other locations on the Chicago Division.

This meeting is generally attended by the General Manager Bob Lease,
Director of Transportation Bob McConahey, Manager of Safety Randy
McMahan and right on down the line to your Safety Rep's like me.
Usually there are somewhere between 45 to 60 people attending this
meeting from all over the Chicago Division.

I always want to recognize and thank all of you for your support, as
BLET Division 75 members for helping me, so I can help you.
